Don’t Worry Jeremy Irwin

In your next life, you’ll be born a cat and that cat you thwapped with your shoed foot will be born a person who will grow to be your size and do it back to you.

You may be outwardly milquetoast and mumbly, but there’s a component of your soul that’s cruel.

Deborah said about Jeremy in a media interview that he only allowed her to only keep one light on at the kitchen stove at night, so I’m assuming he was pissed off that all the lights were on when he arrived home. I now think her smiles during that interview were nervous smiles. I think she fears him to some degree. Maybe that’s why she trails behind when they exit a car (& thinking back to Rasleen Raim’s family member talking about Jeremy being ruthless according to the reporter, maybe there’s more to the story).

By kicking the cat in front of Deborah, he’s exercising his ‘power’ … hurting her emotionally by hurting the cat.

I wonder if he ever kicked the children or threw things at them.

I’m glad to know I’m not the only one who sees what you saw in Irwin. I think he’s a control freak who keeps Deborah walking on eggshells. Yes, I saw the “lights” reference in the same interview you did and thought, “That woman is scared of him”, she tried to laugh it off, but I’ve been in “relationships” like that. She has the halting uncertainty of an abused woman., both in speech and body language. I don’t know if he’s physically violent, but the emotional violence is right on the surface. It’s palpable.

And, yes, the cat thing was telling as well. The message was “Stay out of my way, Deborah, I’m pissed off.” Yeah, he’s a creepy one. And he’s hiding. He appears so disassociated and distant.
I’ve often wondered how he’d do on a polygraph test. Pity one was never done.

(Although I’m totally against polygraphs as a police tool), it would be kinda cool to have him be asked if he arranged for Lisa to be kidnapped.

OMG that’s awesome you were thinking on the lights thing and how she reacted!

The dissociated and distant part you write is spot on. I was wondering in the beginning if he was just distraught, tired from not sleeping all night and being interrogated all the next day. The first media interviews were strange. He speaks sooooo slooooowly and looks down, and I think that’s why Deborah interrupted him the day police had them address the person/people responsible to drop Lisa off at a church or fire station…it seems Deborah had a sense of urgency (spit it out, man!).
And since both his eyes are kinda wonky and not centered, he might be self conscious and be in the habit of looking down.

Did you catch how she was introduced by that cop as Deborah Netz?

Have you noticed footage of when he hugs her? Most of the times he has had one hand in his sweatshirt pocket. He also keeps both or one hand in a pocket most all the time in general. For while I thought this was body language indicating he was hiding something, but now I think maybe he’s trying to keep himself from punching her or a wall.
Maybe he’s hiding something too…but maybe not related to Lisa vanishing. In the search warrant a box was checked by “Property for which possession is an offense under the laws of this state;” so maybe they suspected there would be drugs, illegal weapons, or were looking for child porn pics…who knows.

    Holla back

Oh, yeah, a polygraph as a tool, the results of which could be used in court is a joke. Too many variables, so they’re prohibited. As a psychological probe they may be useful to bring out a confession of guilt? Maybe, but under enough duress they could produce a false confession too.

But anyway, I’m ever so curious as to why it is Jeremy was exempted from taking one. I think most if not all of those images of him attempting to be affectionate w/Deborah are for public consumption. He looks like an unwilling participant in a freak show. If you’ll notice it’s never a full on embrace, very little body contact. I mean you wouldn’t expect him to be all over her, but there’s just the complete lack of empathy for her. I don’t know. It’s always easy to second guess.

And yes~! She always but always walks behind him it seems to me. Drives me nuts~! There something about that that’s so off. Someone who cares for you would see you out of the car, see you in and out of doors, etc etc…all those markers are missing. At the very least, you’d expect him to walk alongside her, not just bolt and run like hell away from her. He just looks full of rage. Remember that comment..”Or maybe a woman who’s been unfaithful to her husband” (para) when asked who he thought who might have taken the baby? Most likely a reference to his first wife, who knows what’s in that head of his?

Like you, I wonder what’s on the hard drive of that computer…could be scary. 😦

I’ll always beleive he’s passive aggressive when it comes his anger. And he has it in spades for Deborah. Controlling.

All just my own opinion. By the way, I love your writing style and your sense of humor. lol

Disregarding my severe and neurotic anti-polygraph issues, I agree with you that really is curious about his not taking a poly. You’d think a thorough police investigation would include detectives asking him to take one to rule out if he orchestrated the event in any way, shape or form.

And I do see what you mean about the body contact issue and hugging.
I’ll bet he’s still repulsed, angry & disdainful thinking Lisa isn’t his. But his attys probably explained to him in detail that police will try to break down their suspect’s (Deborah) support system by driving away their friends and family and they will lie to others they interrogate to get someone to roll. But he’s still sitting there without having done a paternal DNA test, so his mind is swimming…that nagging seed of doubt. My question is…who, in his frustration and anger, will he kick next?

    lol @ my humor…thx.

Agree totally that Jeremy is very suspicious. I think that he wanted to punish Deb for what he felt were her transgressions and also to make her more dependent on him. First he blurts out that she might have been unfaithful in order to plant that idea in the public’s mind and then he “stands beside” her and supports her when people start to accuse her of being unfaithful! I also thought of Gone Baby Gone. Could that be why the police deliberately exempted him from the polygraph tests?
