Rocky – The Winter Storm

Bleh. The sleet started last night mixed with snow.
Overnight, the power went out while I was sleeping. I woke up to cold floors and a blinking display on my alarm clock. Lights are flickering once in a while.

Right now the wind is whipping from the west and gusting from the other directions in response…a constant swirl of fine sleet blended with snow and not much air space between the particles.

I feel bad for the squirrels, birds, and other critters who live outside.
Missouri side:
-Power lines down on the ground – waiting for road crews to clear the street so they can get to it.
-A tree is on fire from a downed line touching it.
-Tree fallen on a house
-Car prowler
-Garage on fire
-Stolen A/C unit causing arcing on a house
-Power lines on fire
-Power lines on a roof sparking
-House fire
-Fire truck jackknifed
-People stuck in elevator

Kansas side:
Reports of power outages
Tree across the road
Odor of natural gas
Cop requesting a ride to work – street is impassable for his passenger car
Towing calls are being switched to a different channel to keep main channel free for regular calls
Arcing power lines
Motorist assists – semis stuck on highway, passenger cars stuck on roads

Last night’s start of the storm

This morning
