Human Hand Bones Found in Independence, MO

A kayaker was out enjoying the water Monday, when police said he came across the skeletal remains of a human hand. Police spokesperson Tom Gentry said they got the call around 3 p.m. to the Little Blue River Trace Trail.

Independence Police Department spokesman Tom Gentry said the skeletal hand was intact and found in the river bed. He said lack of rain and the drop in the water level led to the discovery.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol lists 131 people missing from the Jackson County area including Renee Pernice and Lisa Irwin.
